Sarcosuchus was a giant crocodilian and was a close relative to Deinosuchus . It was much larger than a modern day crocodile, ranging around 8 tons. Fossils of Sarcosuchus have been found in Africa & it lived during the Early Cretaceous era, 100 - 145 million years ago.
